Beware of SMS Phishing
"Did you know that with the fraud mode that has recently occurred, SMS phishing or often referred to as smishing is a fraudulent method in cyberspace that is carried out through text messages (SMS) to steal the victim's personal information, such as bank account numbers, passwords, or other sensitive data. The perpetrator sends messages that appear to be from trusted institutions, such as banks, e-commerce companies, or government agencies. How to Prevent SMS Phishing:
- Do not click on links or download attachments from unknown or suspicious SMS;
- Verify information by contacting the relevant institution directly through official channels;
- Don't share personal information via SMS or text message.
By staying vigilant by raising awareness and caution, we can avoid the trap of phishing SMS and protect our personal data and financial security."
